1. Who We Are

TMB Guide ("we", "us", "our") operates the website www.tmb-guide.com. We provide informational content about hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc and connect visitors with a licensed travel partner for trip bookings. We are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and applicable French data protection laws.

Data Controller:

2. Data We Collect

We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it through our contact form:

  • Contact information: full name, email address, phone number, nationality
  • Trip preferences: selected itineraries, travel dates, group size, luggage transfer preference
  • Messages: any additional information you include in your inquiry

We do not collect personal data through tracking technologies unless you have given explicit consent via our cookie banner.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under Article 6 of the GDPR:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): when you submit the contact form, you consent to us processing your data to respond to your inquiry
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): to operate, maintain, and improve the website
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): for analytics cookies, only after you explicitly opt in via our cookie banner

4. How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and provide trip information or a quote
  • Forward your request to our licensed travel partner so they can arrange your trek
  • Communicate with you about your planned trip

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send marketing emails or newsletters.

5. Data Sharing

We may share your data with the following parties, only as necessary to fulfill your request:

  • Travel partner: a licensed adventure travel agency based in the French Alps that organizes trek logistics (accommodation, transfers, guides). When you submit a trip inquiry, your contact details and trip preferences are forwarded to them. They process your data under their own privacy policy and act as an independent data controller for the booking relationship.
  • Hosting provider: Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA), which hosts this website via Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare complies with GDPR through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and their Data Processing Addendum.
  • Analytics: Google LLC (via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager), only when you have given explicit consent via our cookie banner. Google processes anonymized usage data under their own privacy terms and Standard Contractual Clauses.

Some data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to Cloudflare (hosting) and Google (analytics, if consented), both of which provide GDPR-compliant safeguards through Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for no longer than 24 months after your last interaction with us. After this period, your data is permanently deleted. If a legal obligation requires longer retention (e.g., tax or accounting requirements), the relevant data is kept for the legally mandated period only.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16)
  • Erase your personal data (Art. 17)

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal (Art. 7(3))
