Refuge de Miage is a small, remote mountain refuge at 1,560 m5,118 ft, above the hamlet of Les Contamines in the Saint Gervais valley. It sits at the foot of the Glacier de Miage - the longest glacier in France - on a wild TMB variante that bypasses the main route and traverses the south face of Mont Blanc. The refuge holds just 31 guests, giving it a notably intimate character compared to the busier huts on the standard circuit. No bank cards are accepted: bring cash. Dogs are not permitted. Bivouac is allowed near the stream. No winter shelter is available.
