Rifugio Elena (2062m), Courmayeur - Italy
Rifugio Elena, at 2 062 m6 765 ft in the upper Italian Val Ferret at Arnouva, is the last refuge before the Grand Col Ferret (2 537 m8 323 ft) on the Italian side. A key stop on the Tour du Mont Blanc between Rifugio Bonatti and the crossing into Switzerland, it has 40 dorm beds with views of Mont Dolent and the glaciers along the Italian-Swiss border ridge. Half-board, hot meals and packed lunches available. Credit cards accepted. An 18-bed winter shelter with blankets is available off-season. No bivouac permitted.
